Lido History

Sailing the Galilee on a traditional wooden boat is an unforgettable spiritual experience for Christian Pilgrims. Here it is possible to re-live the days of Jesus and the Apostles, to reflect, to offer prayers, to become inspired. Visit holy sites associated with the life of Jesus around the Galilee. Enjoy a traditional onboard meal of Fish and Loaves.

Below are some onboard scenes from Pilgrim Cruises on the Sea of Galilee.
Check Pilgrim's Guide for additional Pilgrim site information.

Lido's Santa Maria glides past Mount Arbel. In 1187, on the flat plateau of Arbel, Crusader knights were roundly defeated in man to man combat by the forces of Saladin. At the foot of Mount Arbel lies the village of Migdal, home of Mary Magdalene. During a drought some years ago in this area, a well-preserved 2,000 year old wooden fishing boat was discovered embedded in the mud at the edge of the lake which is on display. Below are a group of pilgrims on Lido's "Halleluya".
